I will quickly tell you my story and explain why I created SirCool'Sound.

I was born and raised in Martinique, a Caribbean island nicknamed “the island of flowers.”

I took my first piano lessons at around the age of 6, having started playing by ear at an even younger age (the piano was in the house before I was).

Initially trained in classical music, I quickly became interested in other forms of music I heard at home, including blues, jazz, pop, and various forms of local music (mazurka, chouval bwa, zook, etc.), and reinterpreted them on the piano.

I then discovered reggae, dancehall, rap, pop, rock, metal, dance, electro, Celtic music, and more.

Fascinated by how things work, I developed a special relationship with science, technology, and sound, and fused them all together in my own way.

I created my first “multitrack” recorder using two cassette tape recorders and headphones as a microphone, so I could make music by recording anything and everything (piano, metal milk cans, pots and pans, my mouth, etc.) and swapping the cassettes for playback/recording (my first STAN).

After exploring computing with the family's first computer (which I took apart and put back together again, much to my parents' panic), I discovered Sound Forge, which I used in much the same way as the two tape recorders, mainly to make remixes and compositions.

I then started frequenting recording studios and technical booths during live shows and local festivals, and during this period I discovered Cubase and Pro Tools.

During the same period, I learned to play the guitar, bass, and percussion, particularly for the purposes of an album (
Mes états D'âme) on which I was the composer or arranger of most of the tracks.

I continued, sometimes as a musician, sometimes as a sound engineer, or both, in a variety of styles (
some of which can be seen here).

Initially a musician, it was live performances (on small stages, in small restaurants, at jazz festivals and on national stages, as a musician or as an engineer for audio recording) and the search for musical color and texture that drew me to studios and essentially analog music processing.

Since then, I have been involved in numerous concerts, compositions, recordings, and sound processing (sound design, mixing, mastering, music for film), always searching for sound textures that correspond to my evolving and creative universe.

Welcome to my musical universe.
Have fun and be creative...
Steeve
